Unmask is a reflection companion. People write personal things to it, and we take that seriously. This page explains what we collect, why, and what we never do.

What we collect

  • Your messages to Unmask and Unmask's replies to you
  • Basic metadata needed to run the service, such as your Telegram user ID and message timestamps

Why we collect it

  • To send you the daily question and respond to what you wrote
  • To keep continuity over time, so Unmask can gently reflect patterns back to you
  • To maintain the reliability and safety of the product

What we never do

  • Sell your personal data
  • Run ads based on what you write
  • Publish or share your content

Security

Your reflections are stored in an encrypted private database. We design Unmask to be private by default, and your data is accessible only as needed to deliver the service.

Third party services

Unmask relies on third party infrastructure to operate, including hosting providers, databases, and AI providers. These services are used only to deliver the product and are bound by appropriate data processing terms.

Data retention

We keep your messages for as long as your account is active, because continuity is core to how Unmask works. If you want your data deleted, email hello@unmask.chat with your Telegram username.
